Bristol Woman Escapes Injury As Car Crashes

BRISTOL (Special) -- Irene Aube, 35, of 93 Terryville Ave. escaped injury early Sunday morning when her automobile went out of control on Terryville Ave., went off the left side of the road and crashed into a Lighway fence, knocking down eight poles. The car was demolished. Sgt. John Maule and Policemen Vito Benvenuto and Francis Rafaniello, who investigated, notified Mrs. Aube to appear Wednesday in City Court on a charge of violation of road rules.
Automobiles driven by two Waterbury neighbors were involved in a collision on Farmington Ave. According to the police report, a car driven by Mildred Deiudicibus, 29, of 19 Burton St. proceeded out of a driveway and struck an automobile operated by Fernand Oulette, 35, of 26 Burton St. Oullette's wife, Yvette, 26, and their two children, Daniel, 4, and Carol, 18 months, were slightly hurt. Mrs. Deiudicibus was charged with violation of road rules. Policemen Richard Lazaroski and Alfred Rafaniello investigated.

Since 1972, Mr. Egresitz resided in Nanuet. Before that he lived in the Bronx. Mr. Egresitz served with the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a lift truck operator for United States Gypsum in Stony Point for 13 years. He retired in 1992. He married Josephine Fredericks Egresitz 41 years ago. He is survived by his wife; two sons, John Egresitz and Rick Egresitz, both of Nanuet; a daughter. Susan Deiudicibus of Port Jervis; a sister, Helen Callahan of Washingtonville; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Church, Nanuet. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main St., New City.

LARGO — Teresa Deiudicibus takes action at Tierra Pines Nursing Center when she learns a caregiver is putting diapers to avoid the tasks of helping resident to the toilet.
“I have to be really strong on this” — she says, describing a program she started that discourages the shortcut.
Deiudicibus is not the nursing director. She's a certified nursing assistant, or CNA, a ground-level worker. But her job is one of the most important at the nursing home in Largo.
Giving her and her colleagues more control of the resident' care is part of her employer's battle with a deepening labor shortage.
It's a battle familiar to nursing home across Florida. They face high worker turnover, and this year the Legislature intensified the pressure by increasing the amount of time CNAs are required to spend with residents.
